Many thanks to the American Eagle Foundation for granting permission for the use of their pictures. The American Eagle Foundation is a non-profit based in Tennessee in partnership with the Dollywood theme park. The AEF is dedicated to protecting, preserving, and repopulating the bald eagle and other birds of prey. They are also involved in raising awareness about bald eagles and other birds of prey through education and public outreach programs. The birds photographed in this photo gallery are mostly their resident birds which are non-releasable either because of an permanent injury, human imprint or other reasons. Given their unique situation of being comfortable around people, they routinely participate in educational outreach presentations and serve as ambassadors to their species. Please visit the American Eagle Foundation at https://www.eagles.org to learn more about their work, schedule a bird of prey presentation, sign a petition or to make a contribution.
